About the game

Desktop Explorer is a psychological horror game with puzzles in which an old computer becomes the only guide to the story of a man's disappearance. After inheriting your uncle's battered PC, you discover a mysterious program inside that can unlock events that took place long before your arrival. The deeper you delve into the system's contents, the more the line between the digital world and reality blurs. Each file can change the picture of what is happening The desktop gradually turns into a real investigation site. Ordinary folders, archives, chat logs, and corrupted applications hide clues that help reconstruct the chain of forgotten events. Sometimes the answer lies in a stray note, and sometimes inside a program the system should have long ago deleted. Even familiar operating system elements become part of the puzzle. Beyond exploring the desktop, you'll explore 3D locations designed in the aesthetics of 1990s digital technology. Fragments of memories, an unsettling atmosphere, and a gradually unfolding story leave you questioning everything that's happening right up until the very end. Old computer games pre-installed on the system also prove to be not as harmless as they initially seem. Features of the game Investigate a mysterious story through the interface of a 90s operating system. Solving puzzles using files, programs and correspondence. Exploration of the digital world and 3D locations in retro style. A psychological horror with an atmospheric soundtrack and computer-generated aesthetics from the past.
