Feed The Pit – a linear, story-driven investigative horror game from the indie studio Curious Fox Sox, released in late June 2026. You track down wealthy individuals in the forests of Carrister Valley using a deck of magical cards and deliver them to a creature called the Pit. The first act is available at launch, and the developers promise to release the second and third acts as free updates. Maps instead of evidence The target is always hidden somewhere in the forest. Each magic card asks a question about the person's whereabouts, and the answer cuts off a section of the map. If you ask the right questions, the search narrows until a single point remains. The hand of cards is limited, and you must play with what you're dealt, so no two investigations are ever the same. It's a mix of detective fiction and card puzzle with roguelike elements. A new monster every day Each mission introduces a new monster, which becomes your opponent for the day. The game doesn't explain its behavior in advance. To survive, you have to observe, take risks, and test your assumptions. The plot branches and leads to multiple endings, and at the center of the story is the cult-like Chosen Circle, which serves the Pit. There's plenty of humor here, but it's mostly dark. Carrister Valley The game is connected to The Deadseat: both games are sold on Steam as part of the "Carrister Valley Saga" bundle. The graphics are retro-styled, pixelated, and played from a first-person perspective, with public domain music. Requirements are modest, but a Vulkan-compatible graphics card is required.
