The Killing Stone is a dark card strategy game set in the 17th century in an isolated corner of the Arctic Circle. At the center of the game is a ceremonial board containing the Death Stone, around which duels of magical creatures and spells unfold. Each game becomes a ritual, where the placement of pieces, timing, and risky decisions determine the outcome of the clash. Living board Creature figures and magical formulas are placed on the ritual board, creating a tactical battlefield. A new reserve system allows you to hold units and buff spells behind the front lines, ready to deploy them at the right moment. Thoughtful placement of creatures and the use of magic gradually shifts the balance of power and opens up new opportunities for victory. Between games, the story of the late Mariken Svangard unfolds. The player assumes the role of a Dark Arts Master and explores the family's gloomy mansion, speaking with relatives and familiars. Through dialogue and observation, details of Mariken's final days are gradually revealed, as well as the origins of the curse that hangs over her family.
