Outsail The Sun – a roguelike bullet-heaven game about a pirate ship crewed by vampires from Rock Pocket Games. The captain fires the bow cannon himself, while the side guns are manned by transformed sailors. A Steam release is planned for 2026; playtesting is currently underway. Escape the dawn There are only vampires on board, and the sun is always hovering near the horizon. Hence the main rule: stay one step ahead of the dawn, while never forgetting your thirst for blood and prey. The ship is demonic, and it's not just the crew that needs to be fed, but the ship itself as well. Each voyage lasts 30 to 45 minutes, during which time you need to explore the sea, find treasure, and reach the final bosses. Treasure maps lead to valuable loot and dangerous side quests. A crew of captured sailors The bow cannon is completely under your control; the rest of the ship's firepower is self-contained. Captured sailors can be turned into vampires and assigned to the guns, while those already serving can be fed to grow. Each vampire, after drinking blood, develops along one of three branches. Collecting upgrades across all branches creates powerful synergies, so balancing between branches is more beneficial than investing in just one. There are many gunners and auxiliary sailors, each with its own synergies. Captains and ships Between voyages, you unlock new captains and ships, each with its own playstyle. Leaderboards are available, so you can compare your voyage results with other players. Metaprogression is extensive, and the developers promise a lot of unlockable content. The music is by The Noble Demon. The game supports Steam Deck, but the requirements for this genre are high: a GTX 1080 and 8 GB of memory.
