Its world is a blend of Slavic mythology and Eastern European nature, and the main threat comes from darkness. Settlement in the forest Darkness gradually consumes the lands, and the survivors retreat into the wild forests. You lead such a group and build a settlement for them from scratch. You assign residents to different tasks: some gather resources, others provide food, clothing, and shelter. New settlers can be recruited and trained in crafts, such as farming or blacksmithing. Each settler has unique traits, needs, and skills, so it's not beneficial to deploy the same person everywhere. Houses, workshops, warehouses, and barracks are upgraded over time, and with them, so are their defenses. Vampires, wood-goblins and werewolves Construction continues during the day, and monsters come at night. Portals open across the land, and the nights grow longer and colder. Ghouls, wood-goblins, werewolves, and night-goblins attack the settlement. To cross into the new lands, you must defeat their Baron. Warriors in the barracks are trained in various specialties, and in battle they can be controlled manually or left to act independently. There is also magic: some spells aid the inhabitants, others harm enemies. Research and Atmosphere To develop, players collect energy, shards of darkness, and technology and defense points. These points unlock new buildings, spells, fighter subclasses, and equipment. The day/night cycle, weather, and seasons affect the look and feel of the surrounding forest.
