Lands of Sorcery – a turn-based role-playing game in the spirit of old sword and sorcery from Sun Bay Games. It entered early access on May 31, 2021, with the full version released on June 10, 2022. The creators explicitly state that they were inspired by Robert E. Howard's barbarian stories and 80s pulp fantasy films like Deathstalker II. Akgoll Continent The game takes place on the continent of Aghgoll, where steel and sorcery decide everything. You lead a motley band of mercenaries and search these lands for your fortune. There are two story campaigns. In The Hunt for Gloomy Whisper, you need to find an artifact capable of changing the entire world. In Children of the Light, the party helps a sorceress against a fanatic who has transformed into a monstrous archdemon. The game's tone is deliberately pulpy: rough barbarians, beauties, blood, and general madness, making it aimed at adults. Ten classes and a rage scale Heroes can be recruited from ten classes, each with six unique skills. They face 28 enemy types. Combat is turn-based, but with a few unique twists. Using skills builds up Rage, and when the meter is full, a special devastating move is unlocked. Victory isn't limited to killing everyone: if you break the enemy's morale, they flee the battlefield. At rest, fighters' skills help restore the squad before the next battle. Camp and assistants Between campaigns, the squad lives in a camp, which serves as headquarters. There, they decide who will go into battle and who will remain in town to rest. Assistants, from a masseuse to an alchemist, come to the camp, each strengthening the fighters in their own way. Equipment is upgraded, characters level up, and some missions involve rescuing captives, who then remain with the squad.
