Knights of Light The Prologue – a historical action RPG from Rumbling Games Studio, released in early access on February 29, 2020. Set in 7th-century Iraq, the developers themselves cite The Witcher and Mount and Blade as inspiration. On the eve of Qadisiyah The plot revolves around the Battle of Al-Qadisiyyah, which lasted about a week and proved decisive for the Sassanid Empire. The prologue covers only the events leading up to the battle itself: the preparations, skirmishes, and the struggle for control of surrounding lands. The world is depicted in detail, with a changing landscape, historical monuments, and architecture bearing traces of Assyrian and Sumerian culture. The army commander falls ill and hands over command to one of two brothers, elite warriors, whom you play as. Two brothers, two styles Asim and Kaaka fight very differently. Kaaka is a heavy fighter, relying on brute force and dealing a lot of damage. Asim is fast and agile, his style built around rapid attacks. Each has their own skills and abilities, unlocked as the game progresses. Weapons can be swapped in combat, each with its own range and advantages against certain opponents. Finishing moves are brutal, with heads being chopped off and blood spilling, making the game more suited for adults. Between a duel and an army Missions vary in size: solo forays, raids with a small squad, and full-scale battles on large battlefields with numerous units. During battle, the army is commanded through the quick menu, without leaving the battlefield. The world map is divided into regions, which must be occupied and held, requiring resource management and fortifications.
