Days of War – an online team-based World War II shooter from a small studio, Driven Arts, on Unreal Engine 4. The project raised money on Kickstarter, spent a long time in early access, and was released in full on January 30, 2020, under the title Days of War: Definitive Edition. The developers took cues from older, fast-paced shooters like Day of Defeat. Short dashes Battles here are fast and dynamic, without lengthy positional firefights. Matches are designed for 32 players, with teams battling across 12 maps across different fronts: Europe, Africa, and the Eastern Front. Bullets penetrate cover differently depending on its thickness and material, so a thin wall won't protect you from a burst of fire. Recoil and movement have been redesigned in the Definitive Edition, as has the overall shooting system, and hits leave injuries. Six classes and 60 barrels Each fighter chooses one of six classes. Each class has its own customizable equipment and development tree: the longer you play as it, the more opportunities it unlocks. The arsenal includes around 60 weapons, from bolt-action rifles to rapid-fire machine guns. The emphasis is on teamwork, and the classes complement each other, so a well-coordinated squad is usually stronger than disorganized individuals. Servers and editor Matches are supported by a matchmaking system and dedicated servers, and the game features voice chat. Those looking to practice can play against bots or shoot at the shooting range. There's a map editor with Steam Workshop support, and the community uploads their levels.
