Into The Darkness – a sci-fi action game for virtual reality headsets from the Vietnamese studio Cosmos Games. The game was announced back in 2021 and is in Steam Early Access under the title Into The Darkness VR launched in May 2025. The focus here is on physics in the spirit of Boneworks: every object has weight, and in VR, you can interact with almost everything with your hands. Immortality in a machine The story takes place in a bleak near future. People are trying to conquer death by transferring consciousness into machines, and, as usual, the experiments spiral out of control. The research center has gone silent, and the agents sent there have never returned. Agent Frank — that's you — is sent next. Your task is to infiltrate the abandoned complex, figure out what went wrong, and escape alive. The plot revolves around transhumanism and the question of whether immortality is worth the price. Physics instead of buttons The game's main feature is how it handles objects. Everything behaves roughly as it would in the real world: heavy objects feel weighty, and objects react to being pushed or thrown. Trailers even showed a glove that pulls objects to your hand, similar to the one in Half-Life: Alyx. You can freely navigate the complex, solve puzzles, and fend off enemies, and shooting is also designed for hands-on use in VR.
