Guns of Fury – a retro platformer in the spirit of run-and-gun with Metroidvania elements from the small studio Gelato Games, released on February 13, 2025. The game is hand-drawn in 16-bit pixel art and deliberately designed to resemble old arcade action games. The Tetracell and the Missing Scientist In the near future, the world is experiencing an energy crisis. Scientist Dr. Klaus announces the creation of the Tetracell, a new energy source, but soon disappears, and his laboratory is blown up. Suspicion falls on industrialist A. Easton, head of Easton Industries: it is believed he kidnapped the scientist to build a superweapon. You play as operative Vincent Fury, who is sent to infiltrate Easton's facility, rescue Klaus, and recover the Tetracell. Shooting and the Big World The world is large and interconnected, and new areas unlock with new skills and equipment, as befits a Metroidvania. There are hundreds of items: firearms, melee weapons, bombs, and accessories. There are more than ten bosses, and numerous types of regular enemies. Secrets are hidden behind destructible walls, and the environment is destructible. A special feature of the game is the controllable mechs: each has its own attacks and abilities. Endings and music There's more than one ending; the endings vary. The music was composed by Dominik Ninmark. The game has minimal requirements: it takes up about 300 MB and will run even on a very old computer with 2 GB of memory, as long as it's a 64-bit system. It has very positive reviews on Steam.
