Horror games are definitely trendy these days. Red Thread Games is developing one such title. The project is called Draugen, a direct reference to Norse mythology: draugrs are undead creatures brought back to life to guard their treasures and secrets, possessing supernatural strength and magical abilities. Indeed, Norse myths and fairy tales served as the primary inspiration for the creators of this dark horror game. What's the underlying story? The Main Character The protagonist of Draugen is an American nature photographer, botanist, and entomologist who arrives in a deserted Norwegian village by the sea. The scientist might not want to wander through this mysterious place and investigate the cause of its demise, but he must. The village appears uninhabited, but that's only from the perspective of the human population. The hapless American soon discovers that it's home to a multitude of evil spirits, and that strange phenomena are occurring... For example, who is that woman in black who periodically appears on the horizon? And who is the girl singing lullabies at night in this uninhabited village? What lies beneath the black shroud of the mystical sea? And what the hell happened in this place, and where did everyone go?! Release date Yes, it's this nature photographer, botanist, and entomologist — or rather, gamer — who will have to uncover all these secrets alone, worrying every minute about staying alive. The release date of the horror game Draugen is still unknown, but the project's official website reports that a Kickstarter campaign for Draugen will soon be launched. Red Thread Games announces that the game will be released on next-generation consoles and three key PC platforms, so downloading the Draugen torrent won't be a big deal.
