Heir of Galidon The action takes place in the vampire kingdom of Galidon, which has been torn apart by civil war. You play as the legitimate heir to the throne, and the path to the throne lies through the dungeons of the Labyrinth. The plot revolves around the struggle for power and the intrigues of the vampire nobility, and unfolds gradually as you descend into new levels. The world is drawn in the spirit of dark fantasy, with blood and a heavy atmosphere. Twenty-one levels of the Labyrinth The game has 21 levels, and the worlds within them are procedurally generated, so the layout changes each time you play through. Each stage has its own objectives. Combat is fast and brutal: crowds of enemies are commonplace, and situations where the hero is on the last drops of health are a regular occurrence. There are three character classes, and abilities are tied to the Blood Power, of which the hero has several dozen. The class and chosen abilities determine the combat style, so a repeat playthrough with a different character feels different. Castle in the painting The heir has his own royal castle, which exists within a magical painting. It can be transported there from anywhere in the dungeon. In the castle, the hero restores his strength, upgrades his workshops, and crafts equipment. Crafting encompasses weapons, armor, potions, and combat scrolls, so the materials he finds are always put to good use.
