About the game
Aftertaste — is a 2.5D platformer about Tami, the language of a tired chef named Ke, who has long since lost her zest for life and her craft. The entire journey takes place inside her own body, transformed into a strange and, in places, almost fairytale-like world. Instead of conventional levels, there are teahouses, markets, entrails, and places connected to memories, food, and emotions that Ke once tried to forget. Taste becomes part of the movement Tami doesn't just hop across platforms — new flavors directly alter her movement options. Sweet, sour, and other sensations unlock abilities that help her cling to the environment, progress further, and reach hidden areas. This causes the route to constantly shift: at first, some areas seem like dead ends, but later, returning with new abilities, you see a completely different path. Between the platform sections, there are short scenes featuring puppet shows. Through them, Ke's past is gradually revealed: her relationship with cooking, her fatigue, her lost motivation, and the things that once brought her joy. All of this is conveyed without heavy explanations, rather through imagery, atmosphere, and the world itself, which feels simultaneously cozy and slightly unsettling. Features of the game 2.5D platforming with an emphasis on movement and abilities. Mechanics related to tastes and sensations. Puzzles using the environment and objects. Puppet scenes revealing Ke's past.
