Where the Forest Ends — is a top-down, narrative-driven horror shooter about a journey through a post-apocalyptic wilderness, where an old stash quickly becomes the worst reason to leave safety. The hero's brother drags him on a journey that smells of trouble from the start: zombies, bandits, abandoned houses, forest roads, and a world where people have long forgotten how to be better than the dead. The cache is not worth dying for. Combat relies on dirty tactics, noise, fear, and the ability to quickly understand the dangers of each encounter. Eight zombie species behave differently, and armed bandits add a touch of human meanness and unpredictability to every skirmish. Sometimes, it's more advantageous to provoke enemies against each other rather than shoot first, allowing them to clear the way to the desired location. There's plenty of weapons, but that doesn't make the world a better place. Pistols, shotguns, machine guns, and melee weapons can get you out of trouble if you use them wisely. Status effects offer room for experimentation: you can set fire to, maim, stop, finish off, and tailor your tactics to the specific threat. Every bullet, every blow, and every unnecessary sound can decide who reaches the stash and who becomes fodder for the undead.
