Game VideoGame Construction Set, which can be downloaded as a torrent on the website, is built around a simple idea: to show the process of game creation, including all the challenges developers face. BUILT-IN GAMES The set includes four basic games (which can be supplemented with new elements and modified at your discretion): - Pop Island (1-2 players) – a capture-the-flag game. It's an adaptation of our first project, Pop Island, released on Nintendo consoles in 2006 and 2007 (90% NintendoLife, 90% NintendoWorldReport). As a penguin, you work together with your teammates to outsmart the opposing team and capture the flag. - Fish & Shark (1 player) – a simple platformer where the hero swims in an infinity pool, collecting coins. To control, simply tap the screen. The longer you hold your finger, the further you'll jump. Of course, you can't crash into obstacles; you have to jump over them. - Five Minutes Before (for 1-2 players). You have only five minutes to save everyone on the rooftops. You'll pilot a futuristic plane, flying up to buildings and picking up people one by one! - One Shot (2 players) – a first-person shooter. Find ammo and try to defeat your opponent. Be careful, as you can die from just one hit. THE CODE IS THE GAME: Code is the primary tool for creating a game world. With it, you can do anything. And let's face it, learning the basics of coding is pretty boring without practice. It's like learning a language without speaking it. However, this may prove useful in the future. The code could be called a new alphabet, the power of which cannot be overestimated. And when you study code in the context of real games, everything changes! The learning process becomes more engaging. By the way, the PULP programming language is used here, which will allow all beginners to master the creation of game code.
