The Hunt for Nielsen The hero is tasked with finding a traitor named Nielsen, who is hiding somewhere in Crests Edge, a northern kingdom far from his home. He must be brought in dead or alive, and there are five full moons to complete the task. The kingdom is in chaos: the Third Moon Festival is underway, while the Earl's Rebellion continues. There are several paths to the goal, the quest can even be abandoned, and there are multiple endings. Time in the game moves as you progress, and the surrounding events change depending on your actions and the power struggles looming. Poor neighborhoods and rich streets The inequality here is immediately apparent. The poor districts are stuck in the Middle Ages, while the wealthy ones are closer to the industrial Victorian era and even the First World War: this is evident in technology, architecture, clothing, and speech. The world is large, with several biomes, and the settlement of Vestfold evolves along with your progress. Resin and kick The combat is fast and brutal, with the developers directly referencing Tarantino. Combos are created on the fly and replace each other. Special oils called resins provide different types of time dilation, and timing the right one is key. A resin kick sends enemies flying or turns objects into heavy projectiles. There are ragdoll physics, destructible environments, and penetrative damage. The developers drew inspiration from Witchaven, Tekwar, and Disruptor, and the jazz-punk music was composed by Roland Redwood.
