Here, you don't lay tracks across the country, but rather manage a single station: platforms, transfers, staff, and hundreds of passengers eager to depart on time. Daily schedule Every day opens with a new schedule. Trains arrive one after another, and each one must find a suitable platform, separate trains so they don't interfere with each other, and clear the track for the next train. Transfers must run smoothly, and the flow of passengers mustn't get stuck in the passages. During rush hour, a single platform error quickly turns into a chain of delays, so it's best to anticipate disruptions in advance. Networks range from two tracks to thirty. Personnel and incidents Working alone isn't possible; we need people. Information desk staff, security guards, cleaners, train maintenance crews, technicians, and a service for passengers with limited mobility are hired. And they always have something to do: a platform breaks down, a passenger becomes ill, an animal wanders onto the tracks, someone leaves a suspicious bag, a crowd suddenly descends on the platform. Each such event forces us to reassess priorities so that other traffic doesn't come to a standstill. From the district station to the main station It all starts with a small regional station. Then platforms, pedestrian bridges, elevators, and business lounges are added, changing passenger behavior and generating revenue. Performance is measured by punctuality, passenger satisfaction, and station appeal, with five service levels leading to the country's main station.
