Train Simulator 2016 RailWorks is a railway simulator from the British-based Dovetail Games, released on Steam on September 17, 2015. The series traces its roots back to 2009's RailWorks, with each new edition changing the starting routes and adding features. The 2016 edition's main new features include a locomotive assistant and a train spectator mode. Three routes out of the box The basic package includes three lines. The Sherman Hill Line in Wyoming stretches for approximately 100 miles across desert terrain and is hauled by Union Pacific diesel locomotives, from the shunting SW10 to the ES44AC, as well as a massive gas turbine locomotive. The German Cologne-Koblenz line along the west bank of the Rhine is operated by DB electric locomotives: BR 101, BR 146, BR 155, and a BR 294 diesel locomotive. The English Riviera Line, approximately 40 miles long from Exeter to Kingswear, is recreated as it was in the 1950s, and will be operated by GWR steam locomotives of the King, Castle, Hall, and Grange classes. Helper for steam locomotives and Railfan Operating a steam locomotive is more complex than a diesel locomotive: steam pressure, water supply, and a regulator are all involved. The new Driver Assist highlights controls that require attention and shows how much to move them. For those who prefer full control, the assistant can be turned off. Railfan mode is designed for those who simply enjoy watching trains: you can position the camera anywhere on the line and take a photo when your train or another one passes by. A series of challenging challenges across different eras has also been added. What is common with other releases? All editions share a common core: scenarios in normal and career modes with medals, a route editor featuring realistic terrain, and a scenario editor where you can specify stops, maneuvers, and breakdowns. Each edition has its own unique starting routes and new features, and user-created scenarios are shared via the Steam Workshop.
