About the game

The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time is an unusual detective puzzle game built around a fictional JRPG from the 90s that supposedly once existed but was lost. The player finds themselves inside the final hour of this "legendary game" and tries to figure out what really happened around it. To do this, they have to study the manual, watch fragments of a mockumentary, listen to developer commentary, and literally piece together the game piece by piece. Reality begins to become confused with fiction The game constantly pretends the player is playing a genuine, forgotten project from the old JRPG era. The manual looks like a scan from a 1990s box set, the director's commentary sounds like archival footage, and the video footage gradually begins to reveal things that clearly shouldn't be in a typical RPG. The mechanics are also built around investigation. You need to not just beat battles and find secrets, but understand how this strange "lost project" works. Some enemies require you to find specific weaknesses, while other puzzles are linked to found materials and hidden information within the game itself. Because of this, the experience feels less like a typical RPG and more like an attempt to unearth the lost history surrounding it. Features of the game A detective puzzle game in the style of a 90s JRPG. Research guides, videos, and comments. A mixture of fiction and pseudo-history. Secrets, riddles and unusual presentation.
