About the game

Systole is the term used to describe the contraction of the heart muscle (diastole is relaxation). So it's odd that the Venezuelan developer team behind CoCo chose this name for their new game, given that it's about a robot. It's not surprising, though: in science fiction, robots have long been seen as beings with hearts, albeit not literal ones... Systole — a platformer the developers describe as "acrobatic." It will be rendered in a 2,5D style, with comic-style graphics. The release date is unknown. An unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, which ran in August-September 2015, is preventing the project from accelerating. Systole, however, the developers said they do not intend to give up. The hero is a robot child, born from a special mechanism called a mother. The child was given no instructions on what was expected of him, so he decided to set out on a journey. Along the way, he will discover the secrets of the robot world and understand his purpose. However, first he must defeat numerous enemies. His weapons are built-in magnets that can change polarity. He also uses masks that enhance certain abilities. The CoCo team uses the Uniti3D engine. They want to create versions Systole for Windows and Mac computers, as well as some consoles, though the exact specifics haven't been specified yet. Of course, the implementation of this plan depends on funding, so we wish CoCo the best of luck with its new crowdfunding campaign!
