Sword Sage: Awakening is a dynamic role-playing game with a combat system based on Chinese mythology and folklore. The protagonist is Pei Sanniang, a young disciple of the Yuangong sect, who returns to her homeland after wandering and discovers Guannandao on the brink of destruction. Forbidden heavenly books have once again become the source of an ancient threat, and mysterious creatures are beginning to destroy the lands protected for generations. The Art of Counterattack The core of combat is a special technique that requires careful attention to the direction of enemy attacks. Strikes can come from above, from a central position, or from below, so simply pressing the defense button isn't enough. You must determine the attack's direction, execute a timely dodge, and immediately seize the opening for a counterattack. This system turns clashes into a test of reaction and observation, especially when the enemy alternates between standard techniques and more dangerous attacks. The heroine's weapons are prone to breaking during battles with monsters, but a special case allows her to quickly create new blades during combat. This allows her fighting style to constantly adapt to the situation. Some techniques allow for a swift strike while simultaneously crafting a new weapon, while others require precise and rapid blade crafting to add fire damage to an attack. By mastering different techniques, she can gradually expand her arsenal of combat moves and find the most suitable method for dealing with each opponent.
