State of Extinction – a role-playing game about survival in a prehistoric world from the small studio Stone Pixel Games. The project was announced in 2015 and launched into Steam Early Access on November 29, 2016. The world before the flood The game takes place in the pre-flood era. You play as a young tribesman who is unaware of the dangers that surround him. The developers explained that they wanted to show the life of Neanderthals during the catastrophe and reflect on why they became extinct. The first area to open early access was called Eagles Reach. It's a mountainous northern region, home to the Wolf tribe. Fire, Fur, and Flint Survival here begins with the simplest things. The hero must find food, protect his group from a growing threat, and cope with an unknown disease. Fire, hides, and flint become his primary tools: with them, he learns to survive and fight enemies. The world is cruel, the game features blood and violence, and dangerous creatures are regularly encountered. Along the way, the hero will have to question the beliefs of his people, because, according to the creators, the fate of humanity depends on them. Early access The game was released in Early Access, after collecting votes on Steam Greenlight and releasing a demo. The developers developed it for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
