Space Defender: Frontier Squadron — is a top-down arcade space shooter with a full-fledged RPG progression system, where the player controls a warship and gradually upgrades it by completing contracts. Piloting is based on simultaneous movement and shooting, making battles fast-paced and requiring constant attention to enemies. In addition to your own ship, you can assemble a small squad, hire pilots, and send them into battle on ships from your hangar. Space contracts At stations, you can recruit pilots and assign them suitable ships. Up to three of your companions will then accompany you in battles and engage enemies independently. Missions are based on 13 contract types: encounters, escorts, convoys, sieges, hunts, rescues, debris collection, and other operations. Additional conditions, such as asteroid fields, enhanced enemies, reinforcements, or time limits, add a layer of unpredictability to each mission. Enemies differ in behavior and specialization, so destroying them in any order isn't always advantageous. Snipers keep their distance, miners lay dangerous traps, aircraft carriers launch entire waves of fighters, and jammers disrupt guided missiles. Support ships are capable of restoring allies' shields, so choosing a priority target becomes part of the tactical equation. Eight ship models are available for your own ship — from the maneuverable Sokol to heavy frigates and destroyers — and over 60 types of equipment allow you to customize your weaponry, defenses, and power system.
