About the game
Singularity — a sci-fi shooter with survival horror elements from the American studio Raven Software. The game's title, of course, refers directly to a technological singularity, a short period of extremely rapid technological progress. However, the word "singularity" can also be translated as "originality, specificity." This meaning would also be appropriate, as we're talking about a very unusual and interesting story. Another possible translation is "strangeness," which also makes sense. So, it's time to finally talk about the plot. Original story, unique gameplay: Game Singularity sends the gamer to the USSR during the Cold War, namely to 1955. No, wait... it sends the gamer to Russia in 2010. Wait... still to 1955. Oh, no — to 2010. The reader has probably already guessed that he will have to visit two worlds at once if he decides to play SingularityAnd we're not talking about magical portals. Basically, it happened like this... At the end of World War II, only the United States possessed atomic weapons. The USSR, however, not wanting to be left behind by its main adversary, sent an expedition to search for uranium. However, instead of uranium, another powerful resource — E-99—was discovered on an island near Kamchatka. The Katorga-12 research complex was built to study it. The authorities rushed the scientists too much, resulting in an explosion that killed everyone involved in the research. The project was shut down and classified. However, in 2010, an American satellite detected a radioactive emission in the Sea of Okhotsk. The US immediately dispatched Marine reconnaissance personnel to investigate. Arriving at the abandoned Katorga-12, the protagonist discovers terrifying mutants and, at one point, finds himself transported back in time. This journey allows him to learn a great deal and even obtain a very useful device invented by a Soviet scientist in 1953: a mobile time converter, or MTC. This item becomes the center of gameplay. It allows him to effectively fight and defend against enemies, transfer objects from the past to the future and vice versa, and find clues to solve various problems. The hero's goal is to change the past to prevent a catastrophe. His mission is truly noble.
