Who could have doubted the Shenmue 3 crowdfunding campaign would be a huge success? With just 25 days left, $3,5 million had already been donated. This is far more than the initial $2 million goal. And it was raised in just eight hours. That's a real record! This excellent funding will allow the creators — the legendary Yu Suzuki and his studio, Ys Net — to bring everything they've planned to life. The third part will be created in accordance with the traditions of the series. If you download the Shenmue 3 torrent, you'll be treated to cutting-edge graphics — it uses Unreal Engine 4, a powerful engine that requires a capable computer. Speaking of platforms, Shenmue 3 will be released not only on PC but also on PS4. Owners of other consoles shouldn't lose hope — judging by the information on Kickstarter, a release on, for example, Xbox One isn't out of the question. Interestingly, although the new game isn't exclusive to Sony's console, it was presented at the company's E3 conference. And the event was a sensation. Fans had been waiting for it for 14 years. Yu Suzuki admits he'd always heard questions about a sequel. When the era of crowdfunding began, gamers repeatedly said they'd be happy to contribute to the project's funding. And they kept their word! Let's add here that Sega promised to grant Yu Suzuki the rights to the game if the campaign was successful, and they also kept their word. Now let's talk about something else very important: the plot of Shenmue 3. This is a direct sequel. The story tells how the search for his father's killer led the protagonist, Ryo Hazuki, to the Middle Kingdom, or China. There, he met Lin Shenhua. He already knew this girl, but only through dreams. Lin told Ryo Hazuki of a legend in her village that foretold their meeting. This fate will lead to the unraveling of the mysteries of mirrors and the hero's father. However, for now, there are more questions than answers. For example, it is unknown whether the long-awaited battle with the assassin Lan Di will take place... Undoubtedly, the series' fan base will grow even larger after the release of the third installment, quite possibly doubling or even tripling. However, statistics will only be available for two and a half years — the release of this action-adventure game is tentatively scheduled for December 2017. The wait is relatively short, but for now, one can look forward to receiving collector's editions and other bonuses, as the Kickstarter campaign also includes some exciting purchases. For example, those who invest $3,000 will be able to acquire a signature leather jacket by Ryo Hazuki. If we recall a little history, we will note that the first part of Shenmue was released in 1999. It was a Dreamcast exclusive. The budget was $47 million, equivalent to $67 million today. The project was enthusiastically received, but ultimately failed to break even. However, no one doubted a sequel would be released, and it was released in 2001. Shenmue 2 is available for both Xbox and Dreamcast. This game was also met with rapturous reception. Many immediately began anticipating a third installment, but Sega was in no rush, and Yu Suzuki took matters into his own hands. We'll see the results very soon!
