Roots of Insanity – a psychological survival horror game from Crania Games, released on April 5, 2017. Built on the Unreal Engine, the entire story takes place during a single night shift at a hospital, which turns out to be the scariest night of the protagonist's life. Dr. McClain's shift Riley McClain, a doctor at August Valentine Hospital, is on a routine night shift. It soon becomes apparent that something inexplicable is happening in the building, and patients are behaving completely out of character. Riley himself suffers from epileptic seizures, which strike at the most inopportune moments. The goal is simple in theory: get out of the hospital alive, rescue the patients, protect his family, and maintain his sanity. The further you go through the halls, the less certain you become of what you're seeing. You can do it without weapons too The combat system is designed for realism. A pistol or knife isn't essential: you can fight back with your bare hands, though guns are certainly safer. The camera can be switched between first- and third-person perspectives. Loot is randomly scattered throughout the levels, so ammo and useful items will appear in different places on a repeat playthrough.
