Set in the Caribbean during the golden age of piracy, you build a settlement that will become a new pirate republic. After the riot The pirate alliance once flourished, but greed and envy culminated in a bloody rebellion, and the republic collapsed. Now you start anew with a modest base and two goals: build a new pirate utopia and settle accounts with those who betrayed you. Throughout the campaign, you must liberate the archipelago's islands and defeat rival factions. Warehouses, docks and hundreds of buildings The city grows thanks to production buildings and amenities for its residents. There are over a hundred different buildings. Goods move through a network of docks, warehouses, and barns, and if there's a break in the chain, residents will be left without what they need. Wealthy settlers improve their skills, unlocking higher levels of production. Bonds between residents also strengthen when they have enough of everything they need. Urgent quests can be completed at the request of factions, and the settlement can be decorated with discovered curiosities. Captains and the Eight Classes of Ships The fleet is led by hired captains. They gain experience in battle, and each can be tailored to their own tactics. There are eight ship classes, and the fleet's appearance is customizable. Naval battles take place in real time, but you can switch to the tactical map at any time and plan maneuvers. Diplomacy encompasses pirate crews and trading companies of nations: they can be pitted against each other or form alliances, and the game records every step. In addition to the campaign, there's free play on pre-made maps and an editor where you can control the number of islands and the behavior of factions.
