Putt Down is a mini-golf horror game in which a shotgun doubles as both a weapon and a club. The protagonist is deeply in debt, so he can't refuse a strange offer. Instead of escaping, he must navigate nightmarish golf courses, shoot the ball, search for ammo, and try to escape alive from a game that clearly doesn't intend to let its participants off the hook. Mini golf turns into a trap Even a simple ball strike here is always fraught with risk. Ammunition is limited, weapons wear out, and the levels are teeming with hazards ready to devour your last resources before you reach the next hole. Coins are literally a matter of survival — without them, you can't buy ammo, healing, or anything else that allows you to make it to the end of each course. Gradually, the situation becomes increasingly tense. The hero's stress mounts, the world around him begins to seem less and less normal, and randomly generated fields throw up new challenges in almost every run. The atmosphere of absurdity is particularly effective: on the one hand, it's a bizarre sports challenge, on the other, a full-blown survival horror, where any wrong decision can easily end very badly.
