Pangaea New World – a post-apocalyptic online shooter with RPG elements from LVR Studio using Unreal Engine 4. The project was announced in November 2015, raised funds on Kickstarter, and passed Steam Greenlight in less than a week. The developers cited Fallout, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Metro 2033, and EVE Online as reference points. The Ark and the Nuclear Strike The premise is this: an alien Ark arrives at Earth from deep space, and humans strike it with nuclear missiles. The world is plunged into darkness, leaving only the area around the Ark intact. This area is called Pangea. The remnants of humanity flock here to rebuild at least some kind of civilization. According to the game's description, three factions are vying for this land: the surviving humans, high-tech aliens ill-adapted to Earth, and former humans transformed into cyborgs. Ninety square kilometers The world is designed to be vast: approximately 90 square kilometers (35 square miles) with no loading screens. It's divided into geozones, and the flora and fauna are interconnected, so a mass hunt for a single species will alter the populations over time. Animals migrate, monsters behave cunningly, and in anomalous zones, people lose themselves in fear. You can explore all this alone or in co-op; the developers have promised groups of up to thirty players. The game features first- or third-person perspective, and both PvP and PvE are available. Professions and the market Progression occurs through skills and professions: trade, hunting, alchemy, medicine, and military affairs. Weapons and armor can be upgraded and crafted, and shops are stocked only with what other players bring in, so the economy is entirely player-driven.
