Orcs Must Die! – a trap-setting action game from Robot Entertainment, released on October 11, 2011. This is the first installment in the series: you defend fortresses from orcs as a battle mage, fighting both yourself with a crossbow and spells, and with pre-set traps. The rift must be held Each map represents a fortress with a breach the orcs mustn't reach. Before the wave, there's time to take stock: winding corridors, high towers, spacious halls, and each location offers convenient ambush points. Walls shoot arrows, spikes spring from the floor, blades spin, and hot sulfur pours from above. Orcs can be pushed into lava, crushed by a lowering ceiling, or frozen. When the wave begins, the mage himself enters the fray and finishes off those who break through. Traps, weapons and enemies The game features six weapons and spells, including a crossbow, a sword, and elemental magic, as well as 19 traps and allies. Eleven enemy types confront you: orcs, ogres, hell bats, and others. The three-act campaign takes you through 24 strongholds, gradually revealing who is behind the invasion. As the campaign progresses, upgraded traps are unlocked. Skulls are awarded for each level, and for those looking for more, there's a Nightmare difficulty and leaderboards with scores. The second game added two-player co-op, the third introduced large-scale battles on open maps, and Unchained shifted to team-on-team online combat.
