About the game
Midnight Watcher: Village — is a survival horror game with a constant sense of unease, where you calmly wander through an empty Siberian village during the day, and at night you transform into someone frantically checking windows, listening for footsteps behind the wall, and trying to hold out until dawn. The game isn't built around jump scares for the sake of jump scares, but around the tension of your own decisions. The more greedy you are and the more you break the rules during the day, the worse it gets after dark. The silence here is more frightening than the screams. During the day, the village seems almost innocuous. You need to explore the area, haul firewood, boil tea, keep an eye on supplies, and do small chores while the dense silence of the taiga hangs around you. But gradually, you begin to notice oddities: the empty houses look as if they've been vacated only recently, the valuables you find seem deliberately left in plain sight, and the atmosphere grows increasingly tense with each new foray. The game constantly pushes you to take risks — you can live peacefully and follow the rules, or you can start collecting forbidden items for profit, fully aware that someone will come for them at night. After sunset, the pace changes completely. The lantern's light becomes your only defense, doors begin to feel too fragile, and every sound makes you turn nervously. You have to quickly fortify your cover, manage your resources, and decide what's more important to save until morning — ammo, salt, or your own nerves. The most frustrating thing is that the game doesn't try to turn the hero into a killing machine. Here, you feel like an ordinary person who simply found himself in the wrong place and realized too late that the village was never empty.
