About the game
Medieval: Total War – a strategy game by The Creative Assembly, published by Activision in August 2002. This is the second game in the series after Shogun: Total War: turn-based power management on a map of Europe and real-time battles, but instead of feudal Japan, this one is set in the Middle Ages from 1087 to 1453. The Crown, the Pope, and the Crusades You can begin the game in one of three eras: the Early Era from 1087, the High Era from 1205, or the Late Era from 1321. Each turn is equivalent to a year. Provinces contain castles, and coastal areas can be used to build ports. Religion influences everything: Catholics, Orthodox, and Muslims conduct diplomacy differently, and a Catholic ruler who wages war against his fellow believers or ignores calls for a crusade risks excommunication. Catholics declare crusades, Muslims jihad. If loyalty declines, rebellions and even civil wars ensue. As the campaign progresses, new powers emerge, such as the Golden Horde. Ambassadors, spies and princesses In addition to armies, a nation has agents: ambassadors, spies, assassins, and priests. Princesses of Christian nations are married to their generals or to the rulers of neighboring nations, cementing alliances. Rulers and generals accumulate virtues and vices that affect their governance and combat. Naval battles are automatically calculated on the map, while land battles can be waged manually. Sieges and ten thousand soldiers It was here that sieges first appeared in the series: before storming a castle, the walls must be breached. Up to ten thousand warriors can participate in a battle, there are about four hundred battle maps, and the terrain and climate vary by region. Units gain experience, and prisoners can be ransomed. There are historical campaigns about the Hundred Years' War and the Crusades with Richard the Lionheart, and online battles are designed for eight players. Unlike 2006's Medieval II, the campaign map here is flat, in the spirit of a board game. Download torrent Medieval: Total War on PC you can see it below.
