MASAKRE is a dark action game with RPG elements, set in a world long since given over to Chaos. All that remains of former civilizations are ruins, hope is a fuzzy memory, and the gods are left with an endless thirst to witness the suffering of others. To survive this madness, simply wielding a weapon is not enough. The deities require victors willing to endure the carnage, prove their superiority, and move closer to enlightenment, which seems more of a curse than a reward. A world that survived its own end Millennia-old cities lie in ruins, their inhabitants having long forgotten the peace. Some have lost their minds and exist only for violence, others try to cling to the vestiges of order, and still others hide from the surrounding nightmare in the hope of surviving another day. Along the way, they encounter allies, merchants, exiles, and those willing to help only as long as it benefits them. Trust is precious here, and any mistake can lead straight into the jaws of the creatures lurking beyond the last safe havens. Deep in the darkness lurk creatures that can be called neither man nor beast. It is there that ancient artifacts left by the gods are found, and it is there that those seeking power must descend. The world is inhabited by a multitude of races and peoples, all of whom survived the catastrophe in different ways. Some managed to build their own societies, others were enslaved, and still others became vagabonds, living on the brink of extinction.
