Legend of Mana – An HD remaster of the 1999 Japanese role-playing game from the Mana series, released by Square Enix and M2 Studios on June 24, 2021. The original was released on the original PlayStation, and the new version features updated graphics and several convenient settings. The world you build The hero dreams of the Tree of Mana and awakens to find the world map of Fa'Diel almost empty. This is the game's key feature: towns, forests, and dungeons aren't initially static. You earn artifacts for completing quests, which you place on empty map squares. Each artifact grows into a new location. The placement and order of these artifacts determines certain events and even the properties of locations. Therefore, each player's world develops slightly differently. Stories instead of one plot There's no traditional, unified storyline. The game consists of numerous individual quests, most of which can be tackled in any order you choose. Three major story arcs stand out, each with its own characters: the story of the Jumi gems, the confrontation with dragons, and the fairy sequence. Battles take place in real time, and the style is determined by the weapons used: swords, spears, brass knuckles, bows, staves, and more. The hero's home includes a garden with a fruit tree, the ability to raise pet monsters from eggs, and the ability to assemble golems that fight alongside you. What has changed in the remaster? Random enemy encounters can now be disabled if you prefer to play through the missions calmly. Yoko Shimomura's music has been re-arranged, but the original soundtrack can be restored in the settings. The Ring Ring Land minigame, which previously required a separate PocketStation device, has been released outside of Japan for the first time.
