About the game
Murder. Hacking. Explosion. And now war is raging across the solar system — but you can stop it. In this noir 2D adventure, detective bureau officer Neil Conrad faces increasingly complex questions, and it's up to you to help him find solutions. Here's the deal. You're Neil Conrad, an investigator for the Bureau of Investigation. One night, you're awakened by the news of a murder, and you plunge headlong into an investigation destined to turn your life, and the entire solar system, upside down. Ask questions, gather evidence and clues, develop theories, and you'll uncover the sordid truth... If you're lucky, that is. No turning back. The plot branches and the ending depend on your decisions. And nothing can be undone. Of course, you can run through the game in one sitting — if you're prepared for the consequences. And if you play your cards right, you might even survive. What are you willing to do? There are questions that simply have no right answers. Are you willing to betray a friend for the safety of a loved one? Or put a loved one at risk to avoid risking the lives of many? What will you choose: remain silent and preserve the fragile peace, or reveal the terrible truth that will change everything? Features of the game Classics are classics, but in Lacuna you won't see the typical quest tropes: Mouse controls / Platformer controls (WASD or controller) The Illusion of Dialogue Choices / Conversations That Only Happen Once Inventory organization, sudden puzzles / Atmospheric, directly plot-related tasks Pixel hunting / Optional hotspot highlighting The plot stops at every puzzle / constantly moves forward "So-and-so will remember this..." / Important decisions and many possible endings
