Knight of Exile – a 2D pixel platformer with hack-and-slash mechanics and Metroidvania elements from the indie studio Pixel Obelisk. The former commander of the royal guard returns from exile to avenge the murdered king and liberate the captured kingdom. Cormac's Return After the death of King Lonan Marfont, dark forces came to the kingdom of Olmur and seized power. Cormac commanded the royal guard but spent three years in exile. Now he returns to restore Olmur's freedom and avenge its king. The main themes of the story are revenge and redemption. Weapons, magic and environment You must fight multiple opponents at once, using various weapons, magic, and the environment itself to your advantage. Weapons can be upgraded, becoming more powerful, and unlocking new fighting styles. Familiars, companions who accompany Cormac throughout his journey, fight alongside him. The bosses are the most challenging: defeating each one grants new powers and abilities. Nonlinear Olmur The world here is nonlinear. It hides secrets, side quests, and new skills, and puzzles are encountered along the way. Animations and environments are hand-drawn.
