Hide Or Die – an asymmetrical online horror game from VecFour Digital. It entered early access in August 2019, and the full version was released on May 1, 2020. Some players survive in the darkness, while others hunt them. Survivors and Extractors The survivors' objective is simple: find abandoned extractors, restart them, and escape before the darkness engulfs everyone. In reality, a hunter is nearby, and surviving alone is difficult. You have to work together, set traps, and run fast. Survivors are skilled at sneaking, running, and vaulting over obstacles, and the maps were built from the ground up with just that kind of movement in mind: lots of verticality, cover, and evasive maneuvers. Three maps were released, and the developers promised to add more. Hunters The other side is the hunter, who hunts down survivors one by one. There are four basic hunters, each with a different style, from close combat to ranged attacks, and the developers promised three more in the 2020 update. The game is played from a first-person perspective, both for the hunter and the survivors. The game has a dark theme, though there are few gory details. Perks and appearance During matches, Darkness accumulates and is spent on perks, of which there are over a hundred. The season pass and cosmetic crates earned by leveling up are free. Survivor appearances can be customized in dozens of ways, and there are hundreds of cosmetic items. You can form a lobby with friends, and matches are held on dedicated servers around the world. The game is currently not available on Steam, so it's worth checking separately to see if the official servers are active.
