The plot is loosely based on Dante's Divine Comedy: the hero's journey leads from a village engulfed by the Black Plague down through the circles of hell. From the plague village to the circles of hell It all begins in a village surrounded by a black plague. The road then descends underground, passing through Limbo, the circles of Lust, Gluttony, Violence, and others familiar from Dante's poem. At the end of the path, the dark lord awaits with his army. Each circle faces its own enemies, including terrifying bosses. The map is large and coherent, and some areas are only revealed after the hero acquires the necessary ability. Tarot spread The most unusual mechanic involves tarot cards. Each new game begins with a fortune-telling session, and the resulting outcome changes the gameplay and the hero's abilities. Therefore, two runs through the same circles can feel very different: sometimes the cards give you a head start, while others require you to fight back. The hero's special abilities can be upgraded, and the items you find can be equipped. Blood and hand-drawn graphics All graphics and animations are hand-drawn. Combat is hack-and-slash, enemies explode and dismember, and the hellish levels are littered with corpses and suffering sinners.
