Forza Motorsport 6: Apex was the first Forza Motorsport game on PC. Turn 10 released it in 2016 for Windows 10 for free, as a lightweight version of Forza Motorsport 6 for Xbox One. In 2019, the game was removed from the Microsoft Store and is no longer officially available. The Best of Forza Motorsport 6 Turn 10 called Apex a collection of the most popular cars in the series. The garage features 63 cars, from a 2017 Ford GT and a 1970s Pontiac Firebird Trans Am to an Audi R18 e-tron quattro racing prototype. Each can be viewed up close in Forzavista mode. There are six tracks, but around twenty configurations: Brands Hatch, Spa-Francorchamps, Sebring, Yas Marina, the Rio de Janeiro street circuit, and the Top Gear test track. Many are accessible at night and in the rain, and up to 16 cars line up. Career with May and Hammond The core of the single-player game is the Showcase Tour, a series of 12 events, each dedicated to a specific car class or brand rivalry. The videos for these events were voiced by James May and Richard Hammond. In addition to the tour, there's a Spotlight series with regularly changing missions. Opponents are controlled by Drivatars trained to simulate the driving styles of real players. Apex hasn't had online racing since its inception; the game is designed for single-player play. Technologies and add-ons The game runs on the ForzaTech engine with DirectX 12 and supports resolutions up to 4K. You can drive with a steering wheel, and for stunning shots, there's the full version's photo mode. A Premium Edition was later released, featuring two seven-car packs and three Nürburgring track configurations.
