About the game
FlatOut — a cult series of frustrating racing games that debuted in 2004. However, it nearly sank into oblivion thanks to the extremely unsuccessful last project, FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction, developed by Team6 and released in 2011. Fond memories of the series remain in the minds and hearts of gamers only thanks to the highly successful first three installments – FlatOut, FlatOut 2, and FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage. FlatOut 3: Chaos & Destruction was published by Strategy First, and they recently made a shocking announcement: another project in the series is in the works. This time, development has been entrusted to Kylotonn Entertainment, a studio with a history of racing games, having developed games like Motorcycle Club, Truck Racer, and WRC5. However, these titles mean little to gamers... Given Kylotonn Entertainment's low profile and Strategy First's failure with FlatOut 3, there's considerable concern about the future of the series. However, the publisher is reassuring us, claiming that the new FlatOut game will be the most ambitious yet. Incidentally, it's been given the shortest possible title — FlatOut. This suggests it's practically a reboot of the series... We can only hope the upcoming project will be at least halfway successful. For now, the only consolation is the creators' decision to involve gamers themselves in the development. However, there's no word yet on how this will be implemented.
