Escape the Backrooms – a co-op horror game set in the Backstage area from Fancy Games, publisher of Secret Mode. After a lengthy early access period, the full version 1.0 was released on October 23, 2025. It is based on a well-known internet creepypasta about endless empty rooms with yellow wallpaper and humming lamps. Endless corridors The backstage area feels simultaneously familiar and out of place: identical rooms, monotonous lighting, carpeting, and walls that stretch on forever. The graphics are realistic, and the interface is minimal, so you have to navigate the environment itself. There are over thirty levels, each designed differently, with its own dangers and escape routes. Among them are the classic ground level, the residential area, a pipe maze, swimming pools, "Fun," and even stranger locations. The advice is simple: stick together and don't stray too far, otherwise it's easy to get lost. Entities Entities lurk in hidden corners, and each requires a different approach. They have different behaviors, and what works against one might not work against another. Voice in the game also functions as a mechanic: voice chat is audible depending on where players are standing, allowing them to find their comrades. However, entities can also hear conversations, and loud chatter can easily give away the entire group. Four of us to the exit You can complete the game solo, but it's designed for co-op play with up to four players. A completion is only counted when everyone has reached it; you can't abandon a straggler. Difficulty is adjustable, and the updated version now supports cross-platform play.
