Dark Quest 3 – a turn-based role-playing game in the style of a board game with roguelike elements from the Bulgarian studio Brain Seal. Early access opened on May 4, 2022, with the full version released on May 24, 2023. This is the third installment in the Dark Quest series, and it focuses on cards, dice, and randomly generated adventures. Camp of Heroes The Elder warns that a new evil has arisen in the east: a Chaos Sorcerer threatens the kingdom, and the heroes must rekindle old alliances. It all begins at the camp, where you assemble your party. There are twelve heroes, and you must select them based on your team's strengths and weaknesses. The journey then leads through thirteen regions to the Castle of Chaos, where the Sorcerer awaits. The Sorcerer himself is voiced and acts as the GM, like a master of ceremonies in a tabletop role-playing game. Cards and dice Along the way, you draw adventure cards, roll dice, and battle monsters, of which there are over sixty types. There are over one hundred and fifty adventure cards, and over eighty combat cards: spells, weapons, potions, and equipment. Combat is turn-based and tactical, but with a bit of luck. Adventures and battles are randomly generated, so two consecutive campaigns will unfold differently. To victory or death As befits a roguelike, the quest continues until victory or the death of the party. The design is inspired by a board game, with isometric and pixelated graphics. The series on the website includes both Dark Quest 2 and Dark Quest 4, with the third installment sandwiched between them.
