About the game
Project Columnae A Past Under Construction, which Moonburnt has been developing for PC since 2013, has passed the announcement stage, and it's likely the team is already gearing up for the release. The project itself is a blend of genres, with a rather unusual gameplay structure – it's nonlinear, but not in the traditional sense where the player's actions can change subsequent events. Oh no, the studio has taken this direction even further. Firstly, the chapters can be played in the order established not by the plot, but according to one's own wishes; secondly, the player's actions, in addition to influencing subsequent events, also influence the surrounding world and past events; and thirdly, changing one chapter during the gameplay affects all the others. In fact, this is a colossal undertaking. Game features: - The aforementioned non-linear passage. - Diversity of genres – post-apocalyptic universe, steampunk, adventure, etc. The world's history is quite typical for gaming projects: due to the ever-increasing deterioration of the Earth's ecology, it eventually became uninhabitable, as a result of which part of the population (the wealthiest) built a city in the sky, Deus. - The city is connected to the Earth's surface by a huge network of pipelines, the name of which is the same as the game - Columnae, through which resources are pumped upwards. - Those who did not have enough money to live in the heavenly abode, but also had no desire to die on earth - they all live in Columnae, stealing the resources mined by the Machine on Earth. - Relations between the people of Columnae are, to put it mildly, strained, corruption is rampant, there are constant squabbles with each other, politics is involved, and at the top of it all is poverty. - The user will travel through Columnae, exploring completely different locations, and will also look into the Machine along the way. - It's unlike other projects, it's fresh – the game is promising, although there's no exact launch date.
