BMX The Game – a physics-based BMX riding simulator from Barspin Studios, in early access since August 28, 2020. Created by BMX riders and fans, the game revolves around free-roaming around Barcelona and performing tricks that earn points. Barcelona as a skate park The main setting is open-air Barcelona, with its famous spots where local riders ride in real life. Part of the city is open in Early Access, and the developers have promised to expand it later. In addition to the city, famous indoor and outdoor parks from around the world have been integrated into the game. Tricks are rated based on difficulty, and the physics strive to be realistic: the rider, bike, and surrounding objects react to impacts and falls almost as if they were in real life. Stick controls The key control feature is that tricks are performed using the analog sticks rather than by pressing buttons. The developers call this system intuitive gesture control, and you won't be able to play without a dual-stick gamepad. Tricks are performed using the analog sticks rather than memorized key combinations, resulting in smoother combinations. The trick set is currently limited, but new ones are promised to be added in future updates. Editors and their spots You can customize your rider: gender, face, hairstyle, body type, and clothing from cap to sneakers. The bike can be customized even further: colors, decals, wheels, pedals, seat, and other parts affect the characteristics for different riding styles. There's a park editor with ramps, halfpipes, and benches, a build mode where you can rearrange objects directly in the city, and a replay editor that records the last sixty seconds with customizable camera settings.
