Beowulf The Game – a slasher based on Robert Zemeckis's film Beowulf, which Ubisoft released in November 2007 to coincide with the film's premiere. Developed by Ubisoft Tiwak and Ubisoft Shanghai. Thirty years that aren't in the film The game begins with Beowulf competing on the shore with another thane warrior and battling a sea serpent. Then Grendel's mother appears, naming him her new hero and granting him strength. The hero then sets out to aid King Hrothgar against Grendel. The game's greatest revelation is that it covers the thirty years of Beowulf's reign as King of the Danes, which are omitted in the film. During this time, he travels far from Heorot and battles demons, a colossal hellhound, trolls, and other large monsters. Rage or heroism The combat follows the classic slasher formula: punches, combos, and battles with enormous bosses. Beowulf is constantly accompanied by his thanes, who can be commanded, assigning them tasks throughout the level. The hero has two distinct strengths: the animalistic rage inherited from Grendel's mother, which makes him stronger but terrifies his companions, and the heroic path, where he leads his thanes by example. What to expect today Critics gave the game a lukewarm reception in 2007, with average scores hovering around five out of ten. However, it's one of the few Beowulf games, and it continues the film's plot. System requirements are minimal by today's standards; a graphics card with 128 MB of memory is sufficient.
