Beards Go Underground — is a card roguelike about dwarven miners who blast mountains for gold, treasure, and even more explosions. The player builds a deck of pickaxes, minecarts, dynamite, beasts, and other crazy tools, then blasts a path through layers of rock, destroying everything around them with chain reactions and avalanches. The mine is falling apart into pieces Instead of the usual "block-smashing," the game constantly encourages you to wreak havoc underground. One well-placed set of cards can trigger a massive chain of explosions, destroying half a mine, while simultaneously dispatching a horde of goblins and revealing hidden treasures. Particularly satisfying are the moments when the screen literally shakes with a series of perfectly executed combinations. During runs, new maps, relics, and miners with different playstyles are unlocked. One dwarf is better at using explosives, while another focuses on resource extraction or aggressively eliminating enemies. All of this fits perfectly with the atmosphere of greedy and boisterous dwarves, who are ready to spend all their gold in the tavern, just to get back into the mines for more loot.
