Beacon of Havoc – a post-apocalyptic city-building simulator with tower defense elements from the small studio Majao Games, released on February 7, 2024. The settlement grows among ruins and wastelands, and enemies arrive in waves, so construction and defense occur simultaneously. Settlement on the ruins The ruins of an old civilization remain, and on this site you establish a new base. First, you need to establish resource extraction, then build production buildings and link them into chains so that one raw material can be converted into another. The more complex the production, the greater the opportunity for growth, but each new building expands the territory you must defend. Research unlocks new technologies and structures, so some resources must be devoted to science, even though you'd rather spend them on walls. Turrets and minefields Raids are constant here. Wave after wave of enemies arrives, and you need to be prepared for each one in advance. For defense, there are turrets and mines: the former protect the approaches, the latter are best placed where the enemy is most likely to attack. A well-chosen position is often more important than the number of guns. If you invest solely in economics, the base will simply be destroyed, and if you build fortifications, you won't have the money to pay for the next ones.
