The space game Asteroids was released in 1979, and a new project based on it, Asteroids: Outpost, will be released in 2016. However, the two games have little in common — specifically, the setting and the publisher, the renowned Atari. Otherwise, these are completely different projects in terms of gameplay mechanics and, of course, graphics. Those who played Asteroids will remember that it involved controlling a spaceship trapped in an asteroid belt, shooting down flying saucers and the asteroids themselves. The new project invites us to land on the surface of a huge asteroid, where we'll mine resources, build a base, craft equipment, and, of course, shoot! The main goal is to defend the base from enemy attack. The game's title translates as "Guard Squad." Incidentally, the project is multiplayer, making it doubly interesting.
