Apocalypse The Game – a single-developer, crowdfunded, first-person indie survival game. It launched on Steam Early Access in November 2017. Air, water and food The post-disaster world is overrun by mutants and zombies. To survive, you need to find water and food, and keep an eye on fresh air, as without it, you can catch a virus. Items are collected along the way, and they are used to build shelter and other structures. The author created all locations by hand, regularly fine-tuning the graphics. The game was built on Unity 2017.2 with PhysX 3 physics and DirectX 12 and Vulkan support. Transport and fuel Scattered throughout the world are vehicles that help you reach new locations and escape dangerous enemies. Fuel is scarce, and vehicles need to be repaired regularly, so travel also requires planning. Early Access already featured trucks, and the developer promised to add regular cars, military vehicles, and helicopters later. You can use up to five types of weapons against mutants. What happened to the project? The plan was to feature a story-driven campaign with voiced characters and factions to align with or fight against, as well as survival and sandbox modes. The game's Steam page was later renamed Apocalypse: Legacy Edition and described as a wave-based survival shooter, with the developer announcing a separate version, version 2.0.
