Amidst The Haze – a short first-person horror shooter from indie developer Samuka Gomes, released on February 6, 2024. A routine grocery shopping trip ends with a thick fog blanketing the city, and you find yourself trapped in a supermarket with other shoppers and vendors. The store as a refuge At first, the supermarket seems like the safest place in town: walls, food supplies, and people nearby. It soon becomes clear that it's more of a trap. Nameless supernatural beings roam the fog outside, and anyone who steps through the doors risks never returning. Inside, it's cramped and stuffy, and the fog seeps into the sales floor, making the sense of security deceptive. Survive with the rest You can't just sit and wait. Together with other survivors, you must figure out what's happening to the city, complete tasks, and fight off the creatures. The game features guns, blood, and scenes of character death, making it suitable for adults. The gameplay is linear and short, but there are no save points, so you'll have to complete it in one go. What is worth knowing It's a small indie game, and it's quite inexpensive on Steam. The system requirements for such a project are quite high: sixteen gigabytes of memory and an RX 580-class graphics card.
